Lost!!!

Nothing much to post about to be honest but then the bug at times bites real hard and despite the want of ideas even before you realise your fingers are flying away on the ketboard and well.. you are writing a post. So lemme see what have I been upto really.... I've been trying to ease upa little.. it seems i'm strung real high and get irritated at the drop of a hat; Been tryingt o write a story... and before I was through with that I end up with another idea..a dnw ell now I' have two stories developing in a parallel track... i just they don't merge to create a catastrophic work of fiction!! Phew!! apart from that.. well mum is in town.. which means I'm being real good boy nowadays. And well... am having a tooth extraction, wisdom tooth... coz the brat is bugging the otgher functional ones and can cause serious damage to them. So, that means after tonight I'll be off solid food for about 48 hours. Darn painful thought I tell you.... and there I have a friend who calls up shrieks, "You are having a dental abortion?? Cool!! When is it going to be?? Do ensure you eat to hearts content before you go for that!!". And there I was trying to keep a straight face and not grimace back. Though it wouldn't have mattered much, 'coz she was over the phone but then...

Apart from all this I have been wondering at the amount of time we all spend at work. I mean, most of us end up doing so at the cost of our personal lives. In the professional world we are replaceable, but not in our personal lives. We go to work come back home and still think about something or the other pertaining to work. At times, I get the feeling that we've sold our soul to a devil called profession, which is engulfing all our senses leaving us as nothing but money earning machines. I mean, what on earth are we getting from working our asses off??? A sick body, a fatigues mind??? Philosophically speaking it's not really worth it. And yet, in world that we live in "You need money honey!!". perfect catch 22 situation if ever there was one!! I feel like breaking away from this routine ridden, mundane life of mine and doing the things that I like the most and yet they all cost something... there are no free lunches after all. So, to pursue the things I like, I have to work so that I can really chuck everything and simply sit back adn relax one fine day. But, will I be energetic enough for that then???

At times I feel we are lost. We are ignoring our heart's calling in doing what the "world" supposedly deems fit, defines as success. In a quest to build a beautiful and secure future are we not missing out on a splendid today?? Are we not lost???

that is so my philosophy: In a quest to build a beautiful and secure future are we not missing out on a splendid today?? Are we not lost???

I try my best to live in the present as much as i can!

Good luck with the wisdom tooth extraction. :-)

i'll be honest... i dont have a very cavelier outlook on life... i do think that there is some amount that you need to invest in thinking about your future... but never let that consume you... its important to strike a balance... and on a more lighter note, convince the delhi walas that work isnt everything and lets take off somewhere... and all the besties with the tooth... i know how bad it can get... (sorry, the intention was not to scare.)

hmmmmm....we start working in the present for earning ourselves a better n secure position in the future then maybe we wont b tht lost but coming to think tht future is really unpredictable its important we take calculative measures and dont also lose the track of today (present) as well..
Hope i made some sense... :p u know hw much I lack coherence :P
Anywys .... btw all d best for ur 'dental abortion' one swack n its all gone...take care buddy :)

@raaji: thnx.. it went of well sort of fine!!
u shud try and live in the present!!

@mann: dats the thing.... ppl fail to strike a balance. they end up chasing a beautiful tommorrow so much so that they end losing the present... frankly, everything has its own time and place... plan for future when its needed...enjoy today when it is needed!!! this a simple principle and yet ppl forget it!!!

Sam said...

@mads: righto... live for today... plan for tommorrow!!

@vands: aren't we all?? a confused lot!!

its amazing how u can think of other things when u r due for a dental extraction...i can already visualise typing u to a dental chair and tugging on ur tooth with one leg on the chair arm for support :-/
(i guess this is why noone talks to me about their dental appointments...*rolls her eyes and flashes a devilish grin*)
my dentist once told me im his worst nightmare because i scare away all his patients with my pre-appointment 'im going to be soo miserable soon' looks...heehee

neways make sure he extracts the right tooth ok? ;)
and yaa say my 'hi' to aunty as well...
cheers!!

@pri: wots so amazing abt it???
anywyz, the op went off ok.. though the doc feared he might damage a nerve or the lovwer mandible as the wisdom tooth was a stubborn one lodged between the 7th molar nad the mandible nerves.... he ahd to split it into two and then get it out...
right on strict dietary regulations.. dats it!!

@ sam
okk...it was a 3rd molar...i missed that...the 'evil di' who also happens to be the dentist i was referring above told me 3rd molar extractions are often smooth :-/
after hearing u,it dosent sound soo true...neways...
ok now heres the tough part--the dietary restriction...heehee
somehow u always tend to feel more hungry when u rnt supposed to be eating----the case of the fobidden fruit ;)...
hows the 'wrath' going?? :P

@pri: agree 100%... sheesh!! to watch ppl gorge succelent tandoori chicken n me not able to have a bite...
the worst part is i got a few burns in my mouth as well thnx to the intense drilling as well to that has added oodles to the discomfort!!
btw, as per the dentist in his 12 yrs career, my case was amongst his top 10 tough cases.. and one of the most dangerous ones!!! :o
thask god he told me that after the extraction!!! :P

@solo: encore??? not another extraction!!! :P

I stopped 'following' long back. It took a particularly horrible thing to change my perspective of life.. but it happened and I happened. Now I just do whatever makes me happy.
