@Mads, Keshi & Mann:
Let me tell you before hand, I'm not doing anything!!! NO!!! Sitting some 2000km away I'm not doing anything!! I too am just sitting in my comfortable chair and reading these snippets and grumbling like an old man, "What are doing to my city?? Have these people no sense of right and wrong?? Have they lost their sanity??"

What I find more despisable in me is that I know that the politcos out there are nothing but dirty but dirty rotten scoundrels (not all but in general!!), and yet I refuse to be a part of the system!!! I'm yet to exercise my voting rights!! Wonderful citizen, wouldn't you say?? I'm reluctant to join politics..... Why should I?? it's so dirty!!

And mark my words, that's how most think and that is why things have gone to the dogs!! Else can you explain how a good for nothing government which took a prosperous state back by more than 20 yrs was allowed to remain in power for more than 25 yrs?????
Any answers??

They say they are changing... but it seems they are doing so at teh cost of innocent.. the ones who can never protest vehemently.. or fight back!!

On 14th November there was a silent protest march in Kolkata... I wish I was there!!!

And then you have the Rizwanur case!!! Gosh.. does the list ever end???

Sorry if i go a bit political here. But the sole reason for Kolkata s mess is the ruling party. What does the party top brass take itself to be ? GOD ? They justified the violence in Nandigram over some SEZ issue, means how could you do this ?

They want to teach all morality to the Central govt about the N-deal and they aint even bothering to set the things right. A commissoner of police is fired given his suspicious role in the suicide / murder case...

time to look for progressive options so that former capital of India comes in line with Delhi and Mumbai (no idea about Chennai) in terms of development!!!!

its high time we youngsters enter politics.. and fight for the betterment of our country.. no use voting for cpi, congress, bjp or ny other party.. every1s corrupt.. we youngsters shud come forward and work for reformation of our country or else incidents like nandigram and godhra will keep happening...

more news - a GNLF man was attacked with a kkukhri by opposition supporters... he is ok now but darjeeling is on indefinite strike... curfew has been imposed and CRPF is patroling... and there's a 104 hour bandh in gangtok... the army is on standby.

we dont have to become politicians to make a difference... what we need is volunteers to educate the public about their rights to vote, and their rights as a citizen... if we would just vote it would be a step forward... but we must do it... as for the young people breaking into politics, its a dirty world - yes... but that's precisely why you went into the system... to change it! i just hope they dont lose sight of that once they do get in...

I agree Sam..most of the time it's not cos we DONT wanna do anything for our countries, but cos we just CANT. Selfish politicians DONT let others do anything good for the country.

Its the same story in Sri Lanka...
